Maskcara Highlight Help

One of the tricky things with buying makeup is finding the right color to match your skin. With Maskcara makeup, the cream foundations are meant to be used in one layer using 4 different shades: highlight, contour, cheek, and illuminator. The makeup gives your face a IIID effect without the layers and layers of makeup. The highlight shade should be closest to your skin color. This is meant to brighten or highlight your face, to make your face look alive. Here is some Maskcara highlight help to get you started on your Maskcara makeup journey.

Shades

Maskcara currently offers  shades of highlight colors (with darker shades coming soon) and these colors range from lightest to darkest, think Snow White to Pocahontas. Here are the shades and what skin colors they look best on:

Moonlit– This color is for very fair skin, fair like Snow White. This shade will look good on skin that has no redness and is pure ivory.

White Peach– If you have fair skin, with little to no redness or freckles, then this shade is meant for you!

Aura– Skin that is on the fair side but has some redness and freckling is a great match for Aura. I find this highlight color to be very versatile.

Sunlit– Have a medium skin tone with some redness or freckling? Then this is your shade!

June- For medium skin with olive skin tones.

Amber– Medium skin with lots of redness or medium dark skin with little to no redness works great with this highlight.

Wheat– If you have medium dark skin with lots of redness or dark skin with little to no redness, then this is for you.

Mango– The darkest of the highlight shades works great with very dark skin with some redness.

Highlight Application Tips

Once you’ve chosen your highlight, here are a few tips to determine whether it’s a good match for your skin color.

  • If the color isn’t blending well into your skin, you need to choose a different shade.
  • If the highlight color appears dry or chalky or adds unwanted texture to the face, then the color is too light. Try a shade darker.
  • If highlight appears yellowy, try a shade lighter.

Hopefully with this Maskcara highlight help you will be able to choose the best color for your gorgeous skin!
